Available Positions
Positions and details of host partners will be added continuously. At this time, recruitment for the Spring 900-hour positions has finished. Please check back in May 2025 to review our updated positions.
Please be aware that these fellowships require full-time commitment, 40 hours per week. We do not accept applicants who are enrolled in undergraduate programs on a full-time basis.

Application Process
Review the list of available positions on the Fellowships page. Click on the “Apply Now” button to submit your contact information, education and experience history, and responses to brief narrative questions. List up to five Fellowships to be considered for.

1. Apply
Applications accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

2. Screening Call
An SSC team member will contact you to schedule a 30 minute call if your application meets the requirements. During this call you will discuss your application, career interests, and how the program works.

3. Host Partner Interviews
After the screening call, your application may be forwarded to select host partners. The host partners will reach out to you directly for interviews.

4. Onboarding
If you are chosen by a host partner, you will receive an offer letter from SSC and BACR. You must complete onboarding and background checks before starting.

5. Orientation
SSC program orientation during your first week of service.
Qualifications

AmeriCorps Requirements
-
Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*.

Ability to pass FBI, CA Department of Justice, out-of-state (if applicable), and National Sex Offender Public Registry background checks prior to service.

Sustainability Service Corps Requirements
-
At least 18 years of age.
-
Test negatively for tuberculosis if working with minors.
-
Adhere to COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements determined by host organization.

Live in the state of California.
-
Commitment to the full term of service.

Capability to work in a professional office or field setting.
-
Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
-
You may NOT be enrolled in full-time undergraduate courses during the Fellowship.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Passion for community-oriented solutions and interest in launching a career in this field.
-
Experience with, or training in, STEM education, community outreach, and project management.
-
Past service experience (e.g., volunteering, community service, etc.).

Associates degree or above and/or relevant experience.
-
Being local to the community where you will serve.
*Currently, we are unable to accept applicants with student visas (such as F1 or F2 student visas, J1 or J2 exchange visitor visas, G series visas, etc.) or those with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.

$2,838.90 monthly living allowance stipend (pre-tax) spread evenly over your program term and distributed every two weeks.

$10,000 Education Award to pay for student loans or additional education (upon completion of a 1700-hour term of service. There are prorated Education Awards for shorter-term fellowships)

Forbearance on existing qualifying student loans and payment of interest accrued during service.
